Satisfactory: SAM Location Guide

Satisfactory's Tier 9 introduces SAM (Strange Alien Matter), a new resource that unlocks advanced functionalities like cloud storage, resource conversion, and teleportation.

Although SAM scanning is unlocked in Tier 9, you can access SAM nodes earlier, as they appear from the start of a new game. Here's a guide to finding the closest SAM nodes to each starting location.

Grass Plains SAM Node

In the Grass Plains, a Normal SAM node is located within the twin pillar mountains, specifically in the cave beneath the upside-down V-shaped mountain.

This cave contains poisonous plants, so bring a Gas Mask for safety. Additionally, a Stinger guards the node, so be prepared for a fight. Ensure a safe way back up before entering the cave.

Rocky Desert SAM Node

The Rocky Desert's SAM node is found in a small open area below a rock formation in the pillar-bridge area. Be cautious of poison plants and Hatcher nests in the vicinity.

Northern Forest SAM Node

In the Northern Forest, the SAM node is situated in a cave near two waterfalls flowing into the large lake. Enter the cave and use a Nobelisk to destroy rocks, revealing the node in a smaller cave below. A Stinger guards the first cave, so deal with it before using the Nobelisks.

Dune Desert SAM Node

The Dune Desert's SAM node is located in the northern part, near a rock formation by the river. There's a small crevice filled with destructible rocks. Blow these up using a Nobelisk, then enter the opening leading to a cave. Defeat the Stingers in the cave, and use another Nobelisk to access the SAM node.
